A few comments from studio visitors and art collectors

When visitors come to my Devon studio or meet me at an exhibition, I love hearing their thoughts as they look through my paintings. Whether they are browsing, choosing a special piece for their home, or simply pausing to enjoy the work, it is always fascinating to hear which paintings they are drawn to and what they feel when they see them. Often, the response is not just about colour, composition, or subject matter, but about the mood and atmosphere a painting creates.

People often tell me that my paintings remind them of the sea, the coast, the light, or a particular feeling they associate with a place they love. Some say the work feels calming, uplifting, or deeply familiar. Others explain that they find themselves returning to a painting repeatedly because it holds their attention in a quiet, lasting way. That kind of response means a great deal to me, because it shows the painting has connected with them on a personal level.

I am always delighted to receive feedback, whether it is during a studio visit, at an exhibition, or later when a painting has been hung at home or in a workplace and become part of daily life. It is especially rewarding to hear that a piece continues to be enjoyed long after it has been collected.
